The lineup of the Super Eagles for their quarter final game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa has been exclusively revealed
Gernot Rohr maintained the 4-3-3 system that turns into a 4-2-3-1
when they are defending. However he has made two changes to the starting
lineup.
Jamilu Collins is back in the squad and will play his first game
after recovering fully from the groin injury that has kept him out of
the team. He will take the place of Ola Aina in defence.
Aina is the only change in the back four with the trio of William
Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem keeping their spots in
front of goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.
In midfield, Rohr maintained same trio with Wilfred Ndidi playing as
the defensive midfielder and Oghenekaro Etebo will occupy the central
midfield role just behind Alex Iwobi who will once again play in the
number ten role.
In attack, Moses Simon who started in the win over Cameroon in the
round of 16 makes way for the man who substituted him in the game in
Samuel Chukwueze who will operate from the right with captain Ahmed Musa
keeping his spot on the left.
Odion Ighalo who is the joint top scorer of the tournament with three
goals will be hoping for more of the same like the brace he got against
Cameroon in the last game.
